5 Reasons Why The Internet Is Not The Best Place to Learn a New Skill.

You probably have had the idea that you can learn any art, craft or skill from the internet. While that might appear true and real to you, here are 5 good reasons why the internet is not the best school when it comes to learning a new skill.

Let's get started.

1. The information on the internet is not arranged.

The internet is super saturated with disorganized information that you really don’t know which resource is needed now or later. An example. If you want to start out as a Forex trader, and you decide to pick YouTube as your resource tool, and on the first day you search for videos on “how to trade Forex”, you’ll get different confusing results and if you end up watching most of them, you might leave the space a bit more confused. Why? Because the information is not given to you in an order that you can get what you’re looking for.

2. The internet doesn't create a bond.

Physical bonding is important in learning. Unlike a physical coach or mentor, the internet doesn’t give you that feeling a physical contact will give you, especially when you don’t have one coach teaching you are learning from everyone who has something to say online.

3. There is no structure on the internet.

Without a proper curriculum made by an expert, studying seems like an endless miserable experience. Sadly, the internet doesn't really arrange the information given to you in a manner that one info leads to the next.

4. The internet doesn't encourage discipline.

Who cautions you when you don't take lessons seriously or when you don't attend a class? No one.

5. Decreased social and physical skills.

The internet doesn’t really give you the opportunity to learn social skills as much as you should.

Personally, I recommend that starting out to learn a new skill, one should look for a physical mentor or coach guide them. The internet should be used for reference purposes. This way, you both the advantages a physical coaching program offers at the same time, you use the internet to broaden your horizon.
